EVANS-TONN DITCH CO.

The Evans-Tonn Ditch Co. manages the oldest running irrigation ditch on Spearfish Creek – over 142 years. Water rights were granted in May of 1876 to the ditch company and have been validated by the state of South Dakota as the first rights to the water flowing in Spearfish Creek.  There are eighty-eight users including farmers, nurseries, produce growers and gardeners in the valley that receive water from the Evans-Tonn ditch. These people depend on the Evans-Tonn irrigation for their water needs.
